Learning to play billiards is the same as participating in other sports. At the beginning, you should lay a good foundation. And correctly mastering the hitting posture is the basis of billiards technology. There are four action links below. Take the right hand grip as an example to explain them respectively.
1. Basic Skills of Billiards - Stroke Posture
Body posture
Center position of club
Use your right thumb and index finger to make a circle or a hook, put the back of the club in the circle, push the club left and right, and adjust the balance until the position of the finger on the club is the center of gravity of the club (balance principle). Then move 20 to 30 cm from the center of gravity to the end of the rod. This distance is the appropriate position for holding the rod. In case of special play, you can also move the grip back and forth.
2. Basic Skills of Billiards - Stroke Posture
Body standing position
Hold the club with your right hand as required, stand at attention facing the main ball to be played on the table, hold the club flat, point the club head at the main ball, and leave the main ball 10-20 cm away. The right thumb of the grip should be aligned with the side seam of the pants. Note that the direction of the club must be in line with the direction of the main ball.
3. Basic Skills of Billiards - Stroke Posture
Upper body posture
British snooker billiards, because the table top is relatively wide, generally adopt the head up aiming hitting posture, and use the horizontal hand support (also known as flat back) hand support. The upper body looks straight forward and aims in the direction of the club.
4. Basic Skills of Billiards - Stroke Posture
Foot position
After the position of the body standing is determined, the right hand holding the pole stays in place. In the posture of standing upright with two feet, the left foot takes a small step to the left side, the scale is equal to the shoulder, and the right foot tip rotates naturally to the right outside, with a rotation angle of about 50-80 degrees. In this way, a stable standing posture can be formed.
